NFWC Tower Rescue Training

We are very excited to be holding our first Tower Rescue Training class at our facility this week! Equipping our employees with the skills and knowledge to work safely with wind turbines – and each other – is a priority for what we do. See below for photos of the class, where employees got to put our new training devices to use!

This class will be offered regularly for both OE employees and members of the community whose jobs require tower safety, like fire fighters. See Doug Corwin or Chelsea Bumb with questions.

New Interns

Welcome to Susanna, Piper, Josh, Todd, and  Sarah!

They have joined the One Energy team in the past couple of weeks. We are thrilled to have you all on board!

Culinary Arts at the NFWC: Welcome, Shawn!

Chef Joseph volunteers his time on the Toledo Consumer Science Committee as part of the advisory committee for Culinary Arts. This week, Chef has a guest at the NFWC named Shawn, who is a Culinary Teacher for Toledo Public Schools. She teaches her students not only how to cook but what the Culinary Industry is about. She will be taking the skills she learns from Chef back to her students who could choose Culinary Arts as a potential career path. Please give her a warm OE welcome when you see her around the office!

Jessie and Liz in DOE TAP Workshop at NREL

OE’s Liz Walls and Jessica Grosso are part of a small, selective group of “thought leaders and distributed wind experts” invited to the Department of Energy’s Tools Assessing Performance (TAP) workshop, taking place this week at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado. Liz will be presenting a demo of Continuum® during the event.
