Business Development Update

  • Erin and I had an encouraging phone call last Tuesday, 10/24 with Jake Reinbolt, North Star BlueScope’s Environmental Coordinator. Jake would like for us to perform an Initial Evaluation for them and a NDA is being signed so they can share utility data with One Energy. North Star is a large electricity user, and is one of First Energy’s top users of power; thus, converting them to Wind for Industry® will be a challenge, since they already buy power efficiently and at a fairly low cost. However, One Energy will continue to think outside the box and look into siting multiple turbines, instead of our usual 3-per-project. For more information on North Star BlueScope, check out their website.
    • One Energy had a conference call with International Paper (IP) last Friday, 10/27. During our discussion, they asked us to screen four of their paper mills, which are located in Kentucky, Iowa, and Indiana, and are all large consumers of electricity
    • Katie and I will attend the monthly IEU of Ohio meeting this Thursday, 11/2. Representative Robert Cupp (R-Lima), Chairman of the House Public Utilities Committee will be the guest speaker. The IEU – Ohio meeting is another way One Energy networks, not only with large users of electricity, but also with important policy makers in the State of Ohio, allowing us to form important relationships with them.
