Whirlpool Habitat Golf Outing

Thank you gentlemen for participating in this local event for Whirlpool.  They have been a huge supporter of Habitat for Humanity activities both local and national for many years.   

Business Development Update

INTERNATIONAL PAPER 
Whaleboard status: Harpooning – Ready
The Initial Evaluation for International Paper (IP) in Eaton, Ohio was sent last week to Jace Athrow in IP’s renewable energy procurement department. Erin and Jeff have a follow-up meeting scheduled for this Thursday with Athrow. If you’d like to know the details of the project so far, you can view the IE in Dropbox under Projects – Development/International Paper/Eaton OH/Initial Evaluation/AS SENT.

NAVISTAR, INC 

Whaleboard status: Harpooning – Queue
The Navistar, Inc plant in Springfield, Ohio has been moved from Scouting to the Harpooning Queue and a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) has been signed. This plant manufactures over-the-road class, medium-duty trucks and G-Vans and currently employs over 1,500 employees. The vans are sold to commercial customers and are used for purposes ranging from ambulances to shuttles/moving vehicles. Erin and Jeff will be holding the initial meeting with Navistar this Friday to discuss what Wind for Industry® is and how we may be able to help them offset their energy costs. The goal of this meeting is to get Navistar to approve us performing an IE for their facility and to receive utility bills from them.

Marion Construction Update

Due to weather conditions, the team wasn’t able to start the rotor build but did complete a great deal of prep work and testing of rigging in anticipation of tomorrow’s build.  

​The team was also able to continue electrical work pulling three 35 kV 1/0 cables from switchgear to grounding transformer.

New Office Parking Lot Activity

Even with the rain delays, there was significant activity today on the driveway project for the new office.  See below for series of photos.

The GRAND TOUR–University of Michigan

Jessie, Jordan and Hank had a very productive day at the SWE Engineering Career Fair today in Ann Arbor.  They spoke with over 60 applicants regarding full time and intern opportunities.
