Business Development Update

This week’s focus for Business Development Tuesday is on progress regarding Initial and Detailed Evaluations.

Two new projects moved into the Beaching (Detail Evaluation) in progress stage:

Campbell’s Soup Company-Findlay; a one turbine project where OE was brought into their development stage.  Site work is beginning this week, and construction of their 750,000-sq. ft. warehouse should be completed by May 2018.  One Energy is working with their Senior Principal Engineer as they design the electrical plant.  Campbell’s is interested in the project, and will be finalizing consumption estimate for the new plant in August.

Bunge-Leipsic; OE is proposing up to a nine turbine project for the new plant in Leipsic Ohio.  This was another opportunity that OE was brought into the initial development stage at the local economic development level.  As a side note, OE will also be doing a national screening for all their sites in North America.
Two projects have moved into the Harpooning (Initial Evaluation) queue stage:

POET-Marion; this site in Marion is located north of the Whirlpool site.  POET has just announced that they will be doubling production at this site.  As we continue to work with their national office, we will continue to look at viable locations.
McLane-Findlay; OE will be proactive and start considering a one turbine project for McLane’s warehouse located on Hwy 99.  This turbine will be in conjunction with the Campbell’s opportunity as we have enough land to site two turbines.

Both projects are very interesting to OE due to their proximity to other projects and the communities they are located in.

Business Development Update–Digital Whaleboard

The new digital Whaleboard, launched to Prudential Capital at the quarterly meeting last week, will be officially rolled out to the office at the end of this week. There will be a rollout/training video that goes into further detail on the new Whaleboard available for Friday’s training initiative focus. Big thanks to Liz and Carly for all their hard work on this project.

The digital Whaleboard will become an important tool, both internally and externally.  Our village, as well as our Board of Managers and Prudential Capital, will have updated information on our activity as we are signing new deals.  This provides full transparency on the development side.

Also, the Whaleboard provides information to the village to track the whales as we bring them back to shore; hunting a whale is a team effort! We’re looking forward to a very busy time in the business development waters.

Business Development Update–Hearthside Food Solutions

Development activity continues for Hearthside with the completion of a 3D concept video for their management team. This should be finalized by Wednesday.

The Initial Evaluation (IE) and video will be delivered to them by the end of the week.

Below is the financial summary, including both a CAPEX and PPA option, from the IE:

It doesn’t get any better for a Wind for Industry® project in Northwest Ohio with respect to the financial model, allowing Hearthside to take control of their electricity cost for the next 20 years.

The plumbing contractors were busy this week with the underground work.  This picture was taken on Friday after cleaning up. More mechanical work will be happening this week.  ACI plans to pour the porch deck later in the week.

Digital Whaleboard

The Business Development Whaleboard has gone digital!  Take a few moments to check out this incredible tool.  Thank you to all who worked so hard to make this possible and roll out today.  Very exciting tool for the OE arsenal!

On the left hand side of the Intranet, click on Whaleboard and follow instructions. If you have any feedback on the tool, please communicate with Liz.
